Class BPU-940 – Bitumen-Polyurethane-Based Two-Component Waterproofing Material

CLASS BPU-940

It is a bitumen-polyurethane-based, two-component, fast-curing liquid membrane material. It adheres strongly to almost any type of surface, forming a highly elastic film.

Description

Application Areas

  • Building Foundations,
  • Retaining Walls,
  • Roofs and terraces, green roof terraces,
  • Insulation of roof valleys and rain gutters,
  • Waterproofing of areas such as bathrooms, kitchens, and balconies (under-tile),
  • Repairs of existing applied polyurea,
  • Lightweight roofs made of metal and fibrous materials,
  • Used with an appropriate primer selected for concrete, wood, and metal surfaces.

Application Information

As a primer on the concrete surface, CLASS EPX-110 or CLASS PUX-510 should be applied with a brush or roller at a rate of 0.20 – 0.40 kg/m². Primer consumption varies depending on the quality and absorbency of the concrete. It must be ensured that the primer is fully cured and hardened. For the waterproofing layer to be applied on top, wait at least 4 hours and at most 48 hours. In a clean container free from any adhesion-preventing substances or in its own container, component A of CLASS BPU-940 is mixed first, and component B is added to it. Mix with a low-speed mixer until a lump-free, homogeneous mixture is obtained. The mixing time should be a minimum of 3 minutes. The mixed, ready-to-apply product is applied to the surface using a stiff-bristle brush or spraying equipment. After the material completes its reaction, the 2nd coat is applied perpendicular to the direction of the 1st coat application. The waiting time between coats is at least 5 hours. Once manual inspection after the application of the first coat leaves no marks on the fingers, subsequent coats can be applied. If desired, fiberglass reinforcement mesh can be used between coats as a carrier.

Consumption

1.5 – 2 kg/m² in two coats
