The prepared mixture in the pot must be consumed within 20 minutes. The prepared mixture is applied with a brush onto a water-saturated surface. The second coat must be applied before the first coat dries and begins to crystallize. Depending on ambient conditions, this period is between 3 to 5 hours. The maximum waiting time between coats is 6 hours. Rapid water loss from the material after application must be prevented. Curing liquids must not be used. CLASS CRYSTAL 2K must be kept wet for 5–7 days. In water tanks, 24 hours after application, the tank should be filled with water to increase the crystallization time and penetration depth. In exterior applications, the surface must be protected from sun, frost, wind, and rain for the first 24 hours.
