CLASS THERMAL YP is applied to the back surfaces of thermal insulation boards. The application method varies depending on the condition of the substrate
and/or the type of thermal insulation board.
Notched trowel method:
Application performed over the entire back surface of the thermal insulation board using a notched trowel. This method is preferred for smooth and level building surfaces.
Spot (dot-and-dab) application method:
Application performed along the perimeter of the board, leaving a 5 mm gap at the edges, and in 3 mounds in the center on the back surface of the thermal
insulation board. A minimum of 40% of the thermal insulation board must be covered. Care should be taken to prevent mortar from spilling onto the side edges
of the thermal insulation board. The bonding process must be executed by pressing with a screed bar to achieve the desired level surface. Mechanical
anchoring (doweling) should be performed after 24 hours, once the adhesive has fully cured.
